Young Member of St. B. in the news!

One of the Diocesan long-range goals is to 'plant' (i.e., start) new churches in the diocese. The Cape & Islands Deanery is working towards starting a new parish in Mashpee. Megan R., a senior at Mashpee High School and a member of St. Barnabas, has designed a senior project for school that is part of the Mashpee Mission initiative.

Joyeux Noel!

A Blessed Christmastide to all from all of us at St. Barnabas.

Our Christmas services were full of the joy and wonder of the miracle of the birth of God's son among us.

'Almight God, you have given your only-begotten Son to take our nature upon him, and to be born of a pure virgin: Grant that we, who have been born again and made your children by adoption and grace, may daily be renewed by your Holy Spirit; through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom with you and the same Spirit be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen' -- Book of Common Prayer, Collect for Christmas.

Next Sunday is January 1, 2006. is called 'The Holy Name of our Lord Jesus Christ' on the liturgical calendar. We will worship together at 8:00 & 10:00 a.m.

December 11th is Second Sunday

Although December 11th is the Third Sunday of Advent, it is still the
Second Sunday of the month, and that means...Second Sunday Worship
Schedule & Second Sunday Brunch!

We have two worship services instead of three. Join us at either the
8:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. service, and then stay for fellowship at our
parish brunch at 11:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

This month's brunch will be sponsored by Overnights of Hospitality
(see our ministry page for more details on this program). The planned
menu includes baked apples, ham, corn chowder, & bran cakes. The cost
is $3 per person with a maximum of $10 per family. Any extra funds
raised at the brunch will be used to help pay for our parish's gift to
our bi-monthly overnight guests: a hotel stay for Christmas!
