St Barnabas Day

Although June 11 is the actual date for the celebration of St. Barnabas, we observed it at our Sunday worship today, June 10. In addition to hearing a sermon about our namesake saint, we also inducted two junior choristers into the choir - Nicholas and Jonathan received their surplices at the end of the Prayers of the People. At announcement time, two board members of the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) presented scholarships to three young folk who are graduating from high school today: Alison D, Jamie I, and Caroline S. All are bound for college, and we celebrated their busy lives and commitment to our parish with applause and laughter.
