Starting with Pentecost, May 27, and continuing through Sept. 2, our Sunday services are at 8:00 a.m. (HE I - spoken) and at 10:00 a.m. (HE II - with music/choir).

Next Sunday, June 3, is Trinity Sunday, and we have a full day of worship and fellowship planned. In addition to our two morning Eucharists, we will offer a service of Solemn Evensong at 4:00 p.m. In between, there is the parish picnic to mark the end of the church school year.

Rector Announces Upcoming Retirement

This week our rector, Bob Appleyard, announced that he will retire at the end of September. His retirement comes at the end of 35 years of parish ministry, the last 15 of which have been at St. Barnabas.

One of our mothers is known for saying, 'The only constant in life is change.' Bob's retirement will bring change to the Appleyards and to our parish. Another of our mothers likes to say, 'change is good.' And we often cry, 'change is difficult.' Both can be simultaneously true: we have an opportunity for celebrating our time working together in the the Master's vineyard as well as a chance to take time to grieve over the departure from each other. And then we are given the opportunity to prayerfully discern the Master's call to us to be an inclusive inviting, forming, sending & serving family.

May 13 is Second Sunday Brunch Day

This Sunday, May 13, is the second Sunday of the month. And at St. Barnabas, that means we worship at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and have a parish brunch after the 10 o'clock service (around 11:15 a.m.).

This month the Vestry is hosting the brunch. We look forward to visiting together as we share a meal. Take some time for yourself - come to church and stay for brunch!
